Omega Surveillance as part of its vision of an aware modern security company has implemented initiatives designed to minimise the impact of its trading activities on society, economy and the environment, as well as fostering a culture of diversity and equal opportunities in the workplace.

At Omega Surveillance we believe that doing business in a responsible, ethical and sustainable way, goes hand in hand with doing business successfully and keeping customer satisfaction at the heart of our operations.

Our approach to what has become an essential part of our operating procedures and culture is what sets us apart from our competitors.  Social awareness is more than just words; it is how we operate, from employee welfare to community support.

The following sections provide a brief explanation of how we are working towards a more inclusive, safer, cleaner and more sustainable society.

ENVIRONMENT

Omega Surveillance has a responsibility to manage both the direct and indirect environmental impacts arising from its operations. Environmentally sustainable operating systems are implemented wherever possible to manage our direct impact on the environment and that of the wider community.
The introduction of our strategy has allowed stakeholders within the company to adopt an approach to business that seeks to source, adopt and promote environmentally aware products and services, thereby reducing our Carbon footprint.
Other initiatives adopted to reduce our impact on our environment include the following;

• Recycling of paper, card and plastics
• Promotion of the use of Public transport
• The adoption of low emission (CO2) company vehicles LPG

HEALTH & SAFETY

The health, safety and welfare of all employees of Omega Surveillance is of paramount importance, that’s why we have introduced far reaching reforms to make the working environment as safe and secure as possible. Some of the reforms introduced include the following;

• Introduction of Gallinet check calling system – to monitor personnel deployed on all sites
• An open door policy 24/7 for the speedy resolution of conflicts and for any human resource orientated issues.

The above initiatives go hand in hand with a conscious operating culture tailored to the individual requirements of personnel working in the field, from someone to talk to at all times, to a set of policies and procedures designed to ensure that company employees remain protected, advised and developed throughout their career with the company.

CHARITY

Charitable work has always been an important part of the Omega  commitment to the local area and the wider community.  As a business we support charities that provide a worthwhile service to disadvantaged sections of our community.

• As a small company we support the South Wye Regeneration Partnership (SWRP) as a Director on the organizations’ board.
• We support Greenpeace
• We support The Princes Trust
• We support Herefordshire Citizens Advocacy Network which advocates for people with learning difficulties

BUSINESS ETHICS (ACS)

As a company we have tried to enhance the reputation of the security industry. This is evidenced by our efforts to encompass and implement the goals of the SIA Approved Contractor Scheme (ACS).
We can’t get it right 100% of the time, but we can learn from mistakes and evolve our service to ensure that client satisfaction remains at the forefront of our efforts.  Part of this commitment to getting it right is our progress towards  ACS accreditation a goal which aligns with our commitment to enhancing the image of the wider security industry.
